The Detroit Lions have signed Bradley Marquez to the team’s active roster, the organization announced Monday.
The Odessa High alum and former Texas Tech receiver was promoted from the Lions’ practice squad.
Marquez was waived from the Los Angeles Rams’ injured reserve earlier this moth. He spent two seasons with the Rams, catching 16 passes and seeing the field as a special teams standout.
After he suffered a knee injury late in the 2016-17 season, the Rams first put Marquez on the injured reserve, and then he took on the same designation this summer. Once the Rams released him on Nov. 6, he joined the Lions’ practice squad on Nov. 10, before being signed to the active roster Monday.
Marquez caught 155 passes for 1,866 yards and 17 touchdowns during his career at Texas Tech.
He helped lead Odessa High to three consecutive playoff appearances from 2008-10 during a record-setting career for the Bronchos.
